eggless b'fast bruitto

ok super yummy and so filling. it was easy to make, no salt or pepper...really and man was it tasty!! there was so much for 1 serving that I made two using WW tortilla wraps. so I will give this 5ww ponits and will definatly be having this again and again and again. There is not one recipe that I have made that I wouldn't make again. Although to look at some of the recipes, the amount of ingredients and such you would think they were very time consumming but they are not. Seriously folks you need to check out hungrygirl.com and start cooking!!

grab 'n go breakfast cookies

Not overly sweet so perfect for the morning rush and good for a healthy snack too. I made these last night so they would be handy this morning. Kendra even popped one into her lunch. The recipe makes 4 and they are only 2ww points each so two for breaky!! I made a double batch and now we have some grab 'n go snacks too. This recipe calls for coffee-mate sugar free french vanilla powered creamer but again not available in Canada so i substituted reg lite coffee mate and added a teaspoon of vanilla extract. very filling and pumkin/cinnomony!! I think that mine don't look so much like the picture in the book and I needed to extend the cooking time next time but they are still good

choco-monkey oatmeal

man this was good, adding hot chocolate mix to oatmeal...genius!! Now it was a little thick when we took it out of the microwave so I added a little vanilla soy milk to make it a little creamier and cool it down. Again filling and delicious! and only 3 ww points!

more weekend breakfast

Creamy hot apple b-fast with brown sugar crunch

This was perfect for a cold Sunday morning. What can I say...are you getting tired of me saying everyting is yummy!! I think she should have called the book 200 absolutly yummy's under 200!!

this recipe called for Nature Valley Maple Brown Sugar Crunchy Granola Bar but I could not find it sooooo I substituted Nature Valley Chocolate Crunchy Granoa Bar...is a recipe ever bad when it comes to adding chocolate...nooooooooooooooooooooooooo

The substitute was just fine and very complimentory to the recipe.

Weekend breakfasts!

tutti fritti biscuits

yummy yummy, not to sweet and very filling. I actually find, so far, that all the breakfasts leave me full and satisfied. Now this recipe called for Bisquick Heart Smart baking mix but it's not available in Canada so I just used regular Bisquick. 2 ww points each..so I had two!!

Slammin' smoked salmon n' bacon b-fest sandwich

Ok again, not ingredients that I would have thought to put together but WOW!! This was really decadent. not too hard to put together, the chopping was the hardest part and I did that while the english muffin was toasting. I did however chope the turkey bacon before I cooked it, much easier!! 3 WW points and I'm full. It was smokin' good, I guess that's due to the smokey taste of bacon and smoked salmon but yummy. I think it kind of tasted like a BLT but better! Another one to love!!

Spinach, tomato, fete'n egg wrap attack

I will admit that this recipe did not sound appealing to me, not sure why I like each of the ingredients but not sure of them mixed together. This was a very decident, savory breakfast but oh my oh so good. Kendra and I are enjoying testing all of these recipes and so far so good!! mmm good!! Kendra's response this morning, thumbs up and mmmmm.

Fab Five Banana Pancake Minis

Day one recipe #1 from 200 under 200...a definate must try!!
OMG this is so good. Kendra and I both had this for breakfast this morning. Absolutly easy to make and sweet enough on it's own that you didn't need the sugar free syrup to dip...yes it's that good. now the boys were not as thrilled as us but Hunter at least tried it. I personally found it very filling for such a small portion but with only 3 WW points I could do a double batch. Some fresh fruit, cheese or yogurt on the side and you have a yummy low cal, low fat absolutly fabulous breakfast.

wow I'm actually doing this

I've always thought blogging was a neat idea. Never really knew how to get started or why I would want to. But after buying Hungry Girls new cookbook 200 under 200 I knew I wanted to cook that book and blog about it too. So here I am. My first step was to contact Hungry Girl HO and ask permission to use the book with my blog. I will not post recipes so don't ask but I will post a link with permission to the Hungry Girl website. I hope to include pictures of each recipe, how easy it was to follow, if I think it's family friendly, how I enjoyed it etc. I will include any substitutes for ingredients that are not available in Canada and adjust the recipe accordingly. And along the way I hope to eat myself healthy and instill good eating habits for my kids. I want them to know taste does not have to be sacrificed when calories and fat are. So now we wait to hear from Hungry Girl HO and play it by ear from there.
